Vintage Aircraft Weekend: Head to Paine Field for a jam-packed day of aircraft and military vehicle displays, World War II re-enactments, fly-bys, and presentations by a variety of speakers, including Bill Boeing Jr. Events are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. For more information, see our story here or go to vintageaircraftweekend.org.

Last weekend to visit Jetty Island: The season to visit Everett’s 2-mile-long island ends on Labor Day, and the weather should be grand. If the volunteer spirit seizes you, help tidy up at the Jetty Island Trash Bash from noon to 4 p.m. Monday. For more details, see our story here.

It’s also the last weekend of the fair: Events through Monday include the Pro-West Rodeo, texting contests, the demolition derby, a baby diaper derby contest. For more on the fair, go to www.heraldnet.com/fair or evergreenfair.org.

Rock out: You could always head to Seattle for the annual Bumbershoot extravaganza (this year’s familiar names include Daryl Hall and John Oates, Mavis Staples, The Presidents of the United States of America and Big Boi). But if you’re looking for something a little lower-key, try the Bothell Music Festival. The all-ages festival, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Country Village, features a lineup of six local blues and classic rock bands, plus food and a beer garden. For more information, go to www.bothellmusicfestival.com.

Party on Whidbey: The Penn Cove Gallery in Coupeville is holding a daylong “We Survived the Heist” celebration Saturday, thanking the community for helping it through a rough time after a burglary. The gallery at 9 NW Front St. plans to be open until 7 Saturday night. Read more about it here.
