Woman died after dog attack; no charges planned
The News Tribune reported that Nga Woodhead, 65, was attacked by two pit bulls as she walked along a Spanaway street. A passer-by shot one dog. Responding sheriff’s deputies shot the other.
The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment of multiple cuts and fractures. A week after the attack, she suffered a heart attack and died.
Prosecutor Mark Lindquist said Friday that the investigation did not produce any evidence that the owner had prior knowledge that the dogs were a danger to others. He added that owning a specific breed of dog is not considered to be proof of prior knowledge.
