Seems Like Yesterday

50 years ago (1963)

Larry Iversen of Everett, a sophomore at the University of Washington, was elected treasurer of the Association Men Students. A 1962 graduate of Everett High, he was a chemistry major.

25 years ago (1989)

People didn’t shop for cars in a snow storm so Jerry Stevens, Dale Martin, Keith Morton and Scott Simcox at the Clyde Revord dealership in south Everett kept busy watching traffic collisions at the icy intersection of Evergreen Way and 79th St.

Pam Osborne remembered curling up by the fireplace in her rural Snohomish home and then hearing a noise when her electric baseboard heater surged to life. Her power was back on. Like others in the neighborhood, her electrical service had been disrupted for more than 46 hours. There were signs the winter storm was abating.
