Meteorologist Ty Judd at the National Weather Service says it feels like minus-19 with the wind chill. He says, “When the wind hits you and it’s that cold, it hurts.”
The Weather Service said temperatures 20 to 30 degrees below normal will persist into Saturday. Forecasters say snow will return this weekend as temperatures start to moderate.
In Western Washington, forecasters say freezing temperatures should start to moderate Saturday with the return of precipitation, starting as snow before it changes to rain.
