Belk, Billen sign to play at Eastern Washington
Pair of Mukilteo S.D. players will play for Eastern Washington
Belk was the first-team tight end on the 4A All-State team and was named to The Herald’s All Area team. He finished his senior year with 25 receptions for 500 yards and helped block for a pair of running backs that amassed more than 1,450 yards.
“He’s long, has great ball skills and is a very versatile player,” said Easter head coach Beau Baldwin in a statement. “We saw him as somebody who could fit in as a tight end or defensive end. He has the type of ability to be great on both sides of the ball, and we’re excited to sign Henderson.”
A two-year starter on the offensive line, Billen served as the Marauders’ long snapper for the past three seasons. His skills on special teams caught the eye of Baldwin, who had high praise for the Mariner senior.
“He’s the best we saw — not just in the state but on the West Coast — as far as players we were recruiting,” Baldwin said. “... You are talking about an all-around football player who I think has all-league, All-America type of abilities as a long snapper.”
