MARYSVILLE — An apartment fire on Cedar Avenue Friday morning sent two people to the hospital.
The fire was reported at 10:22 a.m. at an apartment building in the 1300 block, said Marysville fire battalion chief Scott Goodale.
Firefighters rescued a man, 60, from inside. He suffered what appeared to be second- and third-degree burns to his legs and hands, Goodale said. The man was taken to a local hospital and was expected to be transferred to a Seattle burn unit.
One of the firefighters suffered smoke inhalation during the rescue and also was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation, Goodale said.
Damage from the fire was estimated at $10,000. The cause was under investigation.
Crews also responded from Everett and Getchell.
