CORBETT, Ore. — Oregon State Police say a female passenger was killed in a single-vehicle crash on icy Interstate 84 in the Columbia River Gorge.
Police say the driver of a westbound Ford Explorer lost control on the icy road Friday afternoon, went off the highway and collided broadside with a tree. The male driver was seriously injured.
No names were immediately released.
Police say highway conditions in the area about 30 miles east of Portland were “extremely bad” with blowing snow and winds gusting to 35 mph.
