“The Dream Act.” Whose dream? I have a daughter at Western, and another daughter who is a senior in high school. My first daughter applied for help and got nothing because we are “too liquid,” saying we have too much cash.
My daughter at Western works in the summer and is on crew, which pays one quarter of school. She puts in 5 to 6 months of practice. Rent is $400 a month and books are $200 to $300 a quarter. We have one paycheck. We have a 1991 Ford truck used to go back and forth to work. We skimmed and saved to give our kids what they need, but now we get to pay for other kids to go to college and may not get to send my other daughter to school. Thank you, Gov. Inslee!
