Regarding Julie Muhlstein’s Feb. 1 article, “Churches plan alternative events on Sunday”: I am a Christian. I attend Arlington United Church. We are a blended church of Methodist and Evangelical Covenant Church faith traditions. If I had a chance to speak with the church leadership who decided to cancel services to watch the Seahawks game, I would have had one question for them: “Who came up with this cockamamie idea?”
I believe that God is the head of the church. Hopefully, the church leadership went into a great deal of prayer with the upper manager God Almighty before cancelling services. I agree with Pastor Crane when he was quoted saying, “And I suspect God enjoys a good football game.” With due respect to Pastor Crane, the God I know and love would like you to visit his house before the game. Respectfully,
Anna Y. Pritchard
