Boys and girls basketball regional draws and predictions

The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association announced the 2014 regional draws over the weekend. Here’s a look at the local teams and their possible opponents.

The regional round games will be played on Feb. 28 or March 1. The regional sites will be assigned on Sunday.

4A Boys

District 1 No. 1 vs. District 3/4 No. 4

The winner of the Jackson-Arlington title game on Friday will get the loser of the District 3/4 third-place game. Todd Beamer, Stadium, Bellarmine Prep and Kentridge are in the semifinals of the District 3/4 tournament.

Who The Herald picks: Jackson vs. Bellarmine Prep.

District 1 No. 2 vs. District 3/4 No. 2

The loser of the Jackson-Arlington title game on Friday will get the loser of the District 3/4 championship game. Todd Beamer, Stadium, Bellarmine Prep and Kentridge are in the semifinals of the District 3/4 tournament.

Who The Herald picks: Arlington vs. Kentridge

District 1/2 No. 5 vs. District 3/4 No. 1

The winner of the Wesco-Kingco crossover pigtail game will get the winner of the District 3/4 championship game. The Cascade-Edmonds-Woodway winner takes on the Mount Vernon-Snohomish winner for the chance to take on the Kingco No. 3 on Saturday. Todd Beamer, Stadium, Bellarmine Prep and Kentridge are in the semifinals of the District 3/4 tournament.

3A Boys

District 1 No. 1 vs. District 2 No. 4

The winner of the Stanwood-Shorecrest title game on Friday will get the loser of the District 2 third-place game. Franklin, Eastside Catholic, Seattle Prep, Bellevue, O’Dea, Mercer Island, Rainier Beach and Bainbridge are in the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Who The Herald picks: Stanwood vs. Eastside Catholic

District 1 No. 2 vs. District 3/4 No. 3

The loser of the Stanwood-Shorecrest title game on Friday will get the winner of the District 3/4 third-place game. Enumclaw, Wilson, Kennedy and Columbia River are the top four seeds in the tournament, which starts with first-round games tonight.

Who The Herald picks: Shorecrest vs. Columbia River

District 1 No. 3 vs. District 3/4 No. 2

The winner of the District 1 third-place game on Friday will get the lose of the District 3/4 championship game. The winner of the Everett-Mountlake Terrace game takes on the winner of the Ferndale-Marysville Pilchuck for the No. 3 seed. Enumclaw, Wilson, Kennedy and Columbia River are the top four seeds in the District 3/4 tournament.

4A Girls

District 1 No. 1 vs. District 3/4 No. 4

The winner of the Lynnwood-Arlington title game on Friday will get the loser of the District 3/4 third-place game. Todd Beamer, Bellarmine Prep, Skyview and Mount Rainier are in the semifinals of the District 3/4 tournament.

Who The Herald picks: Lynnwood vs. Bellarmine Prep.

District 1 No. 2 vs. District 3/4 No. 2

The loser of the Lynnwood-Arlington title game on Friday will get the loser of the District 3/4 championship game. Todd Beamer, Bellarmine Prep, Skyview and Mount Rainier are in the semifinals of the District 3/4 tournament.

District 1 No. 2 vs. District 3/4 No. 3

The loser of the Glacier Peak-Mountlake Terrace title game on Saturday will get the winner of the District 3/4 third-place game. Kennedy, Wilson, Prairie and Auburn Mountainview are the top four seeds in the tournament, which starts with first-round games tonight.

Who The Herald picks: Mountlake Terrace vs. Auburn Mountainview

District 1 No. 3 vs. District 3/4 No. 2

The winner of the District 1 third-place game on Friday will get the lose of the District 3/4 championship game. The winner of the Marysville Pilchuck-Meadowdale game takes on the winner of the Ferndale-Stanwood for the No. 3 seed. Kennedy, Wilson, Prairie and Auburn Mountainview are the top four seeds in the District 3/4 tournament.
