SEATTLE — Heavy snow and dangerous driving conditions closed I-90 and U.S. 2 for hours over the Cascades early Monday. The Washington Department of Transportation reopened the passes late on Monday morning, but chains are required on most vehicles.
Stevens Pass remained open, but drivers are required to have chains on all vehicles except those with all-wheel drive. Oversized vehicles are not allowed.
A mudslide is blocking a major road into and out of Pacific in King County. King County sheriff’s deputies say an unoccupied car was swept up in the slide, but no one was hurt.
In Puyallup, the 900 block of 14th Street SW is flooded, along with some nearby homes.
