And these machines are sophisticated. They even ask mechanics preparing a repair estimate to check a boxy if they’ve got a boat payment due.

Burp: Romania’s national dish, a grilled sausage called “mici,” will be granted a reprieve for containing more bicarbonate of soda than permitted by the persnickety busybodies at the European Union.

Romanians eat 25 tons of the spicy stuff a year — and, presumably, almost as much bicarbonate of soda with water afterward to deal with heartburn.

Don’t know much about history: On this day in 1885, Mark Twain’s “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” was published for the first time.

On the very next day in 1885, the novel was banned from a school library for the first time.
