The Camano Wildlife Habitat project is presenting a forum on the shorebirds that make their winter homes in and around the Skagit-Stillaguamish river delta at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Camano Multipurpose Center.
Gary Slater, founder and director of Ecostudies Institute, a nonprofit organization committed to conserving birds and their habitats, will present research on the migrating birds.
He will also talk about how people in the area can help with conservation strategies to stem the decline of the population.
The talk, sponsored by the wildlife project and Friends of Camano Island Parks, is free.
The Camano Multipurpose Center is at 141 East Camano Drive.
