Man killed in I-5 crash near Mountlake Terrace identified

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Officials have identified a man who was killed in a crash on I-5 near Mountlake Terrace on Sunday night as Magarbi M. Matthew, 22, of Bremerton.
Matthew was a sailor assigned to the USS Nimitz, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Police believe he lost control of his Honda Accord and struck a tanker trailer, which rolled onto the Honda.
The freeway was closed for about seven hours after the 11:15 p.m crash. The tanker had been carrying 7,000 pounds of liquid nitrogen.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it are being asked to call Sgt. Jerry Cooper at 360-805-1192 or detective Ed Collins at 360-805-1194.
