ARLINGTON — Detectives are continuing to investigate a Sunday crash that killed an 18-year-old Stanwood woman near Arlington.
Investigators with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Collision Investigation Unit hope to talk with anyone who might have witnessed the one-vehicle accident that occurred around 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
The young woman was a passenger in a black Lexus that was traveling on 240th Street NE at a high rate of speed. The car left the roadway and rolled over between 123rd Avenue NE and 131st Avenue NE, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.
The driver, 19, and another passenger, 18, sustained minor injuries. Both men are from Arlington.
Detectives are interested in speaking to one witness in particular, Ireton said. He is described as white and in his 50s or 60s with gray hair. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt and walking eastbound on 240th Street NE at the time of the accident.
Anyone else with information about the accident is asked to call the sheriff’s office anonymous tip line at 425-388-3845.
Release of the crash victim’s name was pending identification by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner.
