Plant sale: The Snohomish Conservation District is taking orders for the 2014 Conservation Plant Sale that will take place March 1 at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe. Everett Home &Garden Show: Comcast Everett Events Center show takes place from noon to 7 p.m. March 7, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 8 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 9 at the events center at Broadway and Hewitt. Port Susan Home &Garden Show: The first Port Susan Home &Garden Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 8 and the Camano Center, 606 Arrowhead Road, Camano Island. The show features speakers local land use, energy audits, and architecture and landscape design; demonstrations; vendors; and a talk at 2 p.m. by Ciscoe Morris on spicing up your garden this spring. Planting dahlias: Meerkerk Gardens is holding a class on planting dahlias with growers John Willson and Larry Childs at 10:30 a.m. March 15 at the gardens, 3531 Meerkerk Lane, Greenbank, off Resort Road. Arboretum tours: Reservations for custom group tours of the Evergreen Arboretum &Gardens are available all year by calling 425-257-8597. CLASSES

Growing tomatoes: The WSU presents two classes with master gardener Jeff Thompson on growing tomatoes in the cool Northwest climate. The two-hour classes take place at 1 p.m. March 11 and 6 p.m. March 21 at the WSU Extension Education Center in at McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE., Everett. Arlington Recreation Garden Group: Monthly workshops will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays with question-and-answer sessions with master gardener Bea Randall at the Stillaguamish Conference Room, at the Arlington Utility Office, 154 W. Cox Ave., Arlington. Cost for the first session is $4 and there will be a $1 per meeting charge after that. Registration not required. Call 360-403-3448 for more information.
