EVERETT — Police called off a high-speed pursuit Friday morning when the driver began blowing red lights on Broadway.
The incident started at 10 a.m. near the Snohomish-King county line, said Washington State Patrol trooper Mark Francis.
Another trooper assigned to King County had spotted a dark blue Volkswagen Passat going 78 in a 60-mph zone on northbound I-5, he said.
The trooper attempted to pull the car over and it took off, Francis said.
The car was “using all lanes to pass” and reached speeds of 105 mph. It got off I-5 at Broadway and was last seen near the intersection with Hewitt Avenue.
Troopers and a police helicopter continued searching for the suspect, who was believed to be alone in the vehicle, Francis said. The chase ended at 10:06 a.m. No injuries were reported. No other details were known.
