How they got to regionals: Arlington lost to Lynnwood in the District 1 championship game to earn the district’s No. 2 seed. Todd Beamer lost to Mount Rainier in the District 3/4 championship game to earn the district’s No. 2 seed.

Players to watch: Arlington—Lyndsay Leatherman, P; Jayla Russ, P; Jessica Ludwig, G; Sevi Bielser, G; Todd Beamer—Megan Huff, P; Bria Rice, G; Quinessa Caylao-Do, G; Nia Alexander, F.

Breakdown: This is a rematch of last year’s state regional game that Arlington won en route to a state championship appearance. It’s even at the same location. But that Todd Beamer team was without sharpshooter Caylao-Do due to injury and that Eagles team had Lindsay Brown and Krista Showalter, who are both gone now to graduation. This year the second-ranked Titans, whose only two losses were in their last four games, are looking for revenge against a young Eagles team that suits up nine underclassmen. Todd Beamer, which won the South Puget Sound League South, is led by post Huff and a trio of sophomores in Rice, Caylao-Do and Alexander. One silver lining for Arlington is the fact Russ, then a freshman, was their leading scorer with 15 points against Todd Beamer last season. Russ and Leatherman will have to control the paint for Arlington and Bielser must hit some big shots from outside for the Eagles to have a chance to make it two straight against the Titans.
