One Boeing product that'll never fly

We know just the battery for it: Aerospace giant Boeing is now looking to make smartphones. The company is pitching the Boeing Black phone to defense and security customers looking for a phone with encrypted storage and a self-destruct mode if an unauthorized person attempts to use it.

When the self-destruct mode is triggered, the phone summons a teenager who grabs the phone, takes a selfie, then drops it on concrete, rendering the phone inoperable.

No room for the elephants and donkeys: Seattle has dropped itself from consideration to host the 2016 Democratic National Convention. Seattle also is not among the finalists for the GOP convention.

It’s just as well. Even with a new potential market among marijuana growers, there simply isn’t enough need for the fertilizer that the political conventions leave behind.

Don’t know much about history: On this day in 1789, the first Federal Congress met in New York, then adjourned for lack of a quorum.

Should have quit while they were ahead.
