Recycle electronics at EdCC
What to do with old laptops, cellphones, monitors, even TVs, is a problem. And Edmonds Community College is here to help. They’re offering free recycling of electronics from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 15 on the campus, 20000 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood.
Larger items, such as washers, dryers, printers or VCRs, will be disposed of for a small fee, which will be donated to the Susan G. Komen breast cancer association. The event is sponsored by EdCC and E-Waste of Lynnwood.
And if you’re worried about private information stored on that old computer, E-Waste will provide certification that data will be destroyed.
EdCC is taking part in RecycleMania a nationwide competition to reduce that amounts of mercury, lead, cadmium, and other hazardous and toxic material that end up in landfills and incinerators. EdCC students and employees may recycle electronics on Wednesday.
