Boldt decision

A little levity always helps

Regarding your February editorial, “Reconciling the Boldt legacy”: I have always been fascinated by cartoonists who could portray an event with an illustration that is both timely and humorous.
Such a cartoon appeared in the newspaper following the announcement of Judge Boldt’s decision to award half the salmon caught to tribal members. It showed a man sitting at the counter of a restaurant eating lunch and a tribal member standing behind him looking over his shoulder. The man turns to him and said, “I don’t care what Judge Boldt said, you are not getting half of my tuna fish sandwich”!
Regardless of how you viewed Judge Boldt’s ruling, I don’t see how you could suppress a smile after seeing that cartoon.
