Tarvaris Jackson says he’s staying in Seattle

Unless Tarvaris Jackson is pulling some sort of prank on Twitter, it looks like the Seahawks’ backup quarterback will be back for the 2014 season.

Jackson was Seattle’s starting quarterback in 2011, then was traded to Buffalo before the start of the 2012 season when it became clear that he was running third in the Seahawks’ three-man quarterback race. When the Bills released Jackson last summer, however, he quickly signed with Seattle and won the backup job over Brady Quinn.

Jackson appeared in three games during the regular season, all in mop-up duty, and completed 10 of 13 attempts for 151 yards and one touchdown. Jackson also played at the end of Seattle’s blowout victory in Super Bowl XLVIII.
