EDMONDS — A man who ditched a stolen car in Edmonds early Monday morning is suspected of breaking into other vehicles in south Snohomish County.
Several people living in north Edmonds called 911 around 6:30 a.m. Monday to report a suspicious man and vehicle in the area, Edmonds police Sgt. Mark Marsh said.
Police found the vehicle — a 1997 Honda Accord — parked partially in the roadway in the area of 187th Street and 78th Place. The engine was still warm.
The Honda was filled with different items, including several bags of tools.
A police dog could not track the suspect.
Police contacted the Honda’s owner, who reported the car had been stolen the day before.
“With permission from the owner, officers were able to search the vehicle and located numerous items that had been stolen out of vehicles in Lynnwood and Edmonds,” Marsh said.
The suspect is described as between 25 and 35 years old and white. He’s about 5-foot-11 and has a medium build. He was wearing a North Face jacket that was dark gray and black along the side. He also was wearing oversized baggy blue jeans.
Anyone with information about the case should call 911.
