Fireworks explode in Spokane home

SPOKANE — Officials say an explosion Sunday night at a Spokane home was fireworks.
Police say they exploded in a man’s lap at a home near W. Gardner and N. Maple Street.
KREM-TV reported the man was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.
A bomb squad searched the home to make sure there’s no threat to the public.
