Regarding the article, “New $5 car tab fee will save state millions on third new ferry”: Apparently nobody remembers the bill we passed several years ago limiting car tab fees to $30. I guess they were just kidding, huh? I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — quit spending money we don’t have on things we don’t need.
At home, if I want a new car? Cut back on steak and eat more hamburger, not that there’s much difference in price anymore. This state wastes so much money that I’m sure they can find multiple ways to fund the new ferry without digging even further into the Taxed Enough Already taxpayers pockets. Maybe we can start with making an effort to reduce welfare fraud, like making it impossible to use EBT cards at casinos and cash machines. That would probably buy a fleet of ferries.
