Everett-Seattle flashback No. 5

When it comes to comebacks, I'm not sure anything can top what happened at the Everett Events Center on Dec. 9, 2006, a game that gave us two unbelievable moments from two tremendous players.

The game was dead and buried. Seattle dominated the first two periods, putting 35 shots on goal and taking a 3-0 lead. Everett, which was the top-ranked team in the CHL at the time, chipped away in the third, but still trailed 3-2 in the closing moments.

The seconds were ticking away: 6, 5, 4. The crowd was frantically baying for the Tips to shoot. And Peter Mueller obliged. Mueller wasn't really in a goal-scoring position at the left point, but he let rip with a one-timer anyway and lasered a shot into the far corner to tie the score with just 3.2 seconds remaining.

After a scoreless overtime the game went into a shootout, and Zach Hamill ended it with some trick-shot magic (see video).

Either of Mueller's or Hamill's moments would have been worth of a flashback. Having both in the same game? Well, let's just say witnessing it was something else.
