Meadowdale softball comes from behind to beat Lynnwood

LYNNWOOD — Trailing by two runs heading into the bottom of the eighth, Meadowdale rallied to score three runs and defeat Lynnwood in an extra-inning contest.
After a leadoff walk and a double by senior Ashley Brooke, Mavs sophomore Kaitlin Webster singled to tie the score at 5. Freshman Kaylee Williams knocked in Webster with a single later in the inning to give the Mavericks the victory, improving the team’s record to 2-1.
Meadowdale sophomore Samantha Gregoryk went the distance on the mound for the Mavericks, earning her first win on the season.
Julia Reuble went 2-for-4 with a triple and a home run to lead Meadowdale offensively after going hitless in her first two at-bats.
“She finally settled down and decided she wanted to hit the ball, and she put the ball where she wanted to,” Meadowdale head coach Bill Hummel said of Reuble.
