The Seattle Sounders’ first road trip of 2014 just got a little longer than expected.
Seattle’s game against the Montreal Impact, which was originally scheduled for this afternoon, has been postponed to Sunday at 1 p.m. (PDT) due to weather.
The game had to be moved a day because of heavy snow forecast for today in Montreal. Olympic Stadium, the Impact’s indoor early-season home field, cannot host events if more than 3 millimeters of snow is expected during an event because the roof’s suspension cables cannot support more than 5 tons of weight.
“The weather is beyond our control,” Sounders coach Sigi Schmid said in a press release. “We will stay ready and prepare to play on Sunday and hope the weather cooperates.”
Televised coverage of the game, which had been schedule for broadcast on Fox (Ch. 13), now will be on JOEtv. Check with your local cable or satellite TV provider to see if it carries the station and to see where it might be found in the channel guide.
