Jackson teammates lead 4A all-stars to victory

Jackson teammates Sierra Anderson and Kelli Kingma combined to score 20 points and lead the 4A all-star team to an 82-77 win over the 3A all-stars in the 2014 Washington State Girls Basketball Coaches Association (WSGBCA) all-state games at King’s H.S. on Saturday.

Eastlake’s Marijike Vandershaaf scored 18 to pace the 4A team and win player of the game honors. Everett’s Sidney Rielly led alls scorers with 21 points and Glacier Peak’s Taylor Baird and Nicole Fausey combined for five points and nine rebounds for the 3A team.

In the 1A/2A game, W.F. West’s Nike McClure, fresh off leading the Bearcats to a state title, scored 17 points to lead the 2A all-stars to a 66-63 win over 1A. McClure won the player of the game. Cedarcrest teammates Susan Kenney and Kalee Fowler combined for 15 points for the 2A team. The 1A all-stars were led by Brewster teammates Monica Landdeck and Chandler Smith, who combined for 28 points and 12 rebounds. King’s Karly Hibbard had six points and eight rebounds for the 1A team.

The 1B/2B all-state game wasn’t much of a competition as the 1B all-stars upset their older intra-state rivals, winning 89-47. Tulalip Heritage’s Katia Brown scored five points for the 1B all-stars, which were led by Wilbur-Creston’s Kaelee Reed (26 points, 13 rebounds) and Colton’s Jenna Moser (14 points, 11 rebounds). Reed was named the game’s player of the game. Napavine’s Mackenzie Olsen scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the 2B all-stars.
