National debt

Deficit spending hurts the 99 percent

Our national debt is spiraling out of control ($18 trillion) and deficit spending continues at a rate of $75 million per day. Most people don’t seem to know how this is affecting their financial situation. The poor and middle class people suffer the most from our government’s rampant spending. When President Obama took office, gasoline was $1.70 per gallon and now it is $3.40. Grocery costs have doubled and the cost for most goods and services have dramatically gone up. Ask yourself if your wages or salary have doubled? Probably not, assuming you still have a job. Deficit spending devalues your money reducing your buying power. This really hurts the poor and middle class who are already struggling to make ends meet.
We must stop the deficit spending, and that means electing conservative senators and congressmen who are willing to put the brakes on deficit spending.
