PORTLAND, Ore. — The state Department of Transportation has reopened one lane of Highway 6 a day after a mudslide blocked the road in both directions.
The slide occurred Wednesday afternoon about 8 miles west of Glenwood in the Tillamook State Forest.
The highway was closed at Banks on the east side of the Coast Range and at Tillamook on the west.
Crews estimate 300 to 400 yards of dirt and debris ended up on the road — the equivalent of about 40 dump truck loads.
