Hey, parents, summer is coming quickly, and it’s time to think about summer activities for the kids.
YMCA of Snohomish County and Camp Fire Snohomish County offer a variety of summer camps for children and teens.
Registration for YMCA camps began earlier this week. Camps are offered through YMCA family branches in Everett, Marysville, Mill Creek, Monroe and Mukilteo, as well as in the Stanwood-Camano Island community.
Camp Killoqua, run by Camp Fire in northwest Snohomish County, is registering children and teens for summer day camp and resident camp sessions.
At camp, kids learn to appreciate the outdoors, develop skills, take on responsibilities, make new friends and lifelong memories.
YMCA camp offerings vary by branch and prices vary by camp. For more information on YMCA of Snohomish County summer programs or to reserve a space online, go to ymca-snoco.org/camp or contact your local YMCA family branch. Activities include crafts, games, sports, swimming and weekly field trips.
Sky-Y camp provides campers an outdoor day camp experience held at Hole in the Sky Park. Specialty camps include those that focus on art, theater, jump rope, cooking, science, magic, horseback riding, skateboarding and sports. Teen Xtreme camp and Xtreme Adventures overnight camping trips provide opportunities for hiking, river rafting, surfing, horseback riding and outdoor camping.
Camp Killoqua sits on a lake and offers opportunities for swimming, sports, arts activities, horseback riding, archery, cooking and teen leadership.
