Kamiak No. 1 singles player Park outlasts E-W’s Kyaw

EDMONDS — In a matchup between two of the best singles players in the area, Kamiak’s Sally Park came from behind to beat Edmonds-Woodway’s Myint-Zu Kyaw 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 to lead the Knights to a 4-3 win over the Warriors on Wednesday.
Park’s teammates Jenna Gilbert and Hannah Hertzog both won their singles matches to give the Knights the advantage in singles play.

Singles—Sally Park (K) def. Myint-Zu Kyaw 3-6, 6-2, 6-2; Jenna Gilbert (K) def. Hanna Rehnfeldt 6-0, 6-1; Susan Su (EW) def. Elizabeth Norris 6-4, 6-4; Hannah Hertzog (K) def. Olga Utkina 6-1, 2-0, retired. Doubles—Naomi Kim-Casey Stepenski (EW) def. Jessica Bae-Annette Song 6-2, 6-1; Hannah Lee-Estella Kim (K) def. 6-4, 6-2; Claire Olson-Katherine Wilson (EW) def. Madison Duskin-Michelle Yun 7-6 (9-7), 6-4. Records—Kamiak 3-0 league, 3-0 overall. Edmonds-Woodway 2-2, 3-2.
