SHORELINE — Shorewood senior Sam Boone pitched a no-hitter, striking out 10, as the Thunderbirds defeated rival Shorecrest Wednesday night.
“He was pretty dominating,” Shorewood head coach Wyatt Tonkin said of Boone’s performance. “He kept the ball down, had a real good down angle and he worked both sides of the plate.”
Sophomore Spencer Jacobs went 1-for-3 with a triple and senior Kory Longaker went 1-for-4 with a double for the T-Birds.
Wednesday’s win improved Boone to 3-0 on the season. Shorewood is now 6-0 overall on the season, and 4-0 in Wesco 3A league play. Boone has signed to play at Washington State next season.
“I look forward to him getting stronger as the season goes on,” Tonkin said of Boone. “The more he throws, the stronger he will get. I’m really happ with where he is right now.”
