Jazz and blues singer Mia Vermillion will perform with percussionist Jason Edmonds on Saturday night at the Thumbnail Theater in Snohomish.

Northwest singer Mia Vermillion brings her chic jazz and sensual blues to Tim Noah’s intimate venue at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 5, in the Thumbnail Theater, 1211 Fourth St., Snohomish.
Performing with her will be the young Seattle percussionist Jason Edwards, who has performed with the Halyards, Vicci Matrinez, Ben Smith of Heart and six-string, electric violinist Geoffrey Castle.
Vermillion, with her acoustic guitar and vocals, helps shine a spotlight on blues talent emerging from the Seattle region. Her recordings have received rave reviews, with airplay on The Roots Music Report Blues Radio chart top 50, as well as rocketing to No. 2 on B.B. King’s Bluesville’s ‘Picks to Click’ radio program, with her recording of “I’m Going to Copyright Your Kisses.”
AllAboutJazz.com’s Michael Bailey said of Vermillion, “she infuses her singing with more humidity than Ma Rainey and more sex than Lena Horne.”
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased in advance from www.brownpapertickets.com.
Tim Noah plans to sing on his own stage for a concert he has titled “Way Back Home,” set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 12. Noah’s songs are filled with vivid imagery, broken hearts, humor, wild abandon, gratitude and redemption.
Tickets for the evening with the prolific singer-songwriter and Emmy Award winner are $20 or $15 for students and seniors.
