TACOMA — A former Tacoma high school math teacher is facing a new criminal charge after a fourth teen came forward to police.
The News Tribune reports that Meredith Powell is due in court Tuesday for arraignment on a charge of sexual misconduct with a minor in the second degree.
Pierce County prosecutors say the teen contacted police March 25.
Powell was charged in February with crimes involving sexual misconduct with three current and former students at Lincoln High School. The 24-year-old pleaded not guilty Feb. 7 to two counts of third-degree child rape and communicating with a minor for immoral purpose.
Court documents say the fourth teen sought afterschool help with his math work in 2013.
A message left Saturday with Powell’s attorney was not immediately returned.
