To the young people of our community:
When you were small we tried to guide you, to make the right choices. Grow up strong, hard working, and respectful. We “volunteered” you to help stack grandma’s wood, or weed the garden bed. We knew the value of being a part of something greater than yourself. You ignored us (we thought) through video games and headphones. Head-strong and angry all the time. Growing up was difficult on all of us. As we look at you now, muddy, wet and cold, once again you’ve been on the slide. Helping in anyway you can.
If we ever doubted why we live here, you’ve shown us we made the right decision. Your courage and dedication to help, even in the face of horrific odds. You were listening, family and neighbors are one in the same. We’ve raised some pretty damn fine kids. We are Oso Strong.
