Why the rush on library vote?

I have several questions about the special election for funding the Camano Island Library. First and foremost, how much did this special election cost the taxpayers and why could this not wait to be added to a ballot where the cost would be less? This measure was defeated during the last election. Will we vote on this every election until they wear the people down enough to pass it regardless of the cost? We have a great library in Stanwood. Would not the best solution be to combine efforts with them and have one great library? I pay for a bus service I will never use and now I am expected to pay for a library my family and I will never use. Sorry, but I vote no again.
