Tip of the Hat

Wag of the Finger: CBS announced that Stephen Colbert will take over host duties on the "Late Show" when David Letterman retires in 2015. Colbert will also retire the faux conservative persona he used on "The Colbert Report" on Comedy Central.

Jumping on the pending opening at Comedy Central, Jay Leno began work on some fresh Obama jokes.

Brought to you by Tums: One of the few recent rating successes for CNN has been Anthony Bourdain's "Parts Unknown," a culinary travelogue that features the chef and food writer traveling the world and reveling in exotic tastes. A new eight-episode season begins Sunday night.

Hoping the same format might boost ratings for one of CNN's more moribund shows, the network announced plans to send Wolf Blitzer out in the "Situation Winnebago," to host his nightly news show — between bites of ribs and coleslaw — at different roadhouses.

The flushing bride: Prospective brides looking for a wedding venue might want to consider the Brightwater Wastewater Treatment Center in Woodinville. Brightwater offers a kitchen, audio-video equipment, a dance floor and lots of parking.

Sure, it's not exactly the garden wedding your mom hoped for, but dad won't have to pay to rent portable toilets for the reception.
