“We knew going into the game that (South Whidbey) is a very strong and physical team,” said Wildcats head coach Michael Bartley. “They play on a narrow field and we knew it was going to be a battle.” Henderson’s goal came off of a corner kick that was sent toward the back post. Tyler Ptacek recovered the ball and flicked it over to Henderson, who was able to slam the header in for the goal.
“Brady is basically a defensive midfielder when he’s out there for us,” said Bartley. “He’s always coming up on attack situations. He’s having a great year finishing off other players work.”
Archbishop Murphy goalkeeper Jeff Scavotto recorded the shutout in goal, the Wildcats’ sixth of the season in just eight games.
“Jeff’s first year playing goalie was last year,” Bartley said. “He’s very smart and very athletic. His reflexes were really great tonight and he was really busy in front of the goal, defending crosses and things like that. He really is a super keeper.”
