Woman in wheelchair struck by car in Edmonds

EDMONDS A woman using a motorized wheelchair was taken to a Seattle hospital Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a car in an Edmonds intersection.
The woman, 79, was hit as she crossed the intersection at 76th Avenue W and Highway 99. She was taken to Harborview Medical Center.
The driver, 20, stopped and waited with the woman until medics arrived.
A stretch of 76th Avenue W along with part of Highway 99 were closed for medics to help the woman and for the Edmonds Police Traffic Unit to investigate.
