Burberry FTW

See ya later, alligator: A ban on the sale of luxury goods made from alligator skin is unwarranted on environmental grounds, California legislators were told. That’s because Louisiana and Florida are crawling with the once-endangered reptiles, wildlife officers in those states say.

Fittingly, the shoes and handbags made from their skins will be sold on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, which also is infested with lizards.

She’s just not that into him: A high school student in York, Pa., was suspended for asking Miss America Nina Davuluri to the school prom during a question-and-answer session with the beauty queen Thursday.

Davuluri was at the school to talk with students about the importance of studying science and technology, a lesson that morphed into how romantic comedies inspire teens to harbor unrealistic expectations about the prom.

Don’t say cheese: The president of Bryant University in Rhode Island is asking the school’s 800 graduating students to resist the urge to take selfies with him while receiving their diplomas.

It’s a smart move, because hundreds of pauses for selfies would extend the graduation program’s length from “endless” to “people are dying in their seats here.”
