“Writers Room” is a must-see series for those who relish behind-the-scenes intel on their favorite shows. Tonight, host Jim Rash quizzes writers from “The Walking Dead” on how they deal with all the blood and guts. 9 p.m., Sundance.

On this week’s installment of “The Real History of Science Fiction,” we explore space (or the final frontier), from the terrifying scenes of “Alien,” to the epic craziness of “Star Wars.” 10 p.m., BBC America.
