EVERETT — A man was fatally stabbed early Monday when he attempted to intervene in a fight between an Everett couple, police said.
The incident was reported about 1:45 a.m. at an apartment in the 8200 block of Fifth Avenue W. When officers arrived, a woman was providing first aid to the victim.
Police learned there had been an argument between a couple at the home. The victim tried to intervene and was stabbed, Everett police Sgt. Ryan Dalberg said.
The alleged attacker had fled but he was tracked down using a police dog.
The man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of murder. He also was wanted on warrants from King County. He has convictions for sex offenses.
