Former PTA leader pleads guilty to child porn

TACOMA — The U.S. Attorney’s Office says a former elementary-school PTA president has pleaded guilty to the production, distribution and possession of child pornography.
KOMO-TV reports the plea was entered Thursday in U.S. District Court in Tacoma.
According to the charges, Belfair resident David Navarro, 38, made numerous videos of himself having sex with at least two children and shared the videos online. He also is accused of making a video of him engaging in sexual activities while seated next to a child on an airplane.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Navarro was arrested last August after an online video depicting the rape of an 8-year-old girl at Belfair Elementary School was traced back to him.
Both the prosecution and defense are recommending Navarro be sentenced to 20 to 25 years in prison. But the judge can still sentence him to the maximum 30 years.
