STANWOOD — Marysville Pilchuck’s Cody Anderson pitched a no-hitter, striking out 17 to lead the Tomahawks to a 14-0 victory over Stanwood in a battle of the top two teams in the Wesco 3A North.
“Everything was going well for Cody today,” said MP head coach Kurt Koshelnik. “He is just so composed and knows what he wants to do with each guy.”
Anderson also threw a five-inning perfect game earlier in the season against Everett and is now 5-0 on the season.
Offensively, Marysville Pilchuck was led by Andrew Alvis, who hit a two-run home run. Brayden Hopstad hit his eighth double of the season for the Tomahawks.
“He just gives a really good chance every time he is on the mound,” Koshelnik said of Anderson. “The players believe in him, the coaching staff believes in him, and he believes in himself most importantly.”
