If you’re looking to pair a scenic drive with your wine and cheese, you might consider the Olympic Peninsula Wineries’ Northwest Wine and Cheese Tour, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Nine wineries, from Chimacum to Port Angeles are partnering with local cheese-makers to offer tastings and samples.
Tickets for the self-guided tour, $30 each, are available at each participating winery or by going to www.olympicpeninsulawineries.org. Admission includes wine and cheese tastings at each of the nine participating wineries, plus a commemorative wine glass. Individual visits of wineries are $5 without the tour pass.
The wineries and cheesemakers participating include: Finnriver Farm &Cidery in Chimacum with Glendale Shepherd Dairy of Whidbey Island; Marrowstone Vineyards on Marrowstone Island with Mystery Bay Farm; FairWinds Winery in Port Townsend with Mt. Townsend Creamery; Port Townsend’s Eaglemount Wine &Cider with Whisky Hill Goat Dairy and Crimson Cove Smoked Specialities; Wind Rose Cellars of Sequim with Black Sheep Creamery of Chehalis; Olympic Cellars in Port Angeles with Golden Glen Creamery of Bow; Black Diamond Winery of Port Angeles with Golden Glen; Camaraderie Cellars in Port Angeles with Willapa Hills Farmstead of Doty; and Harbinger Winery of Port Angeles with Samish River Creamery in Bow.
