Pit bull service dog attacks 3 people in Yakima
The Yakima Herald-Republic reported Saturday the dog is now under quarantine and could be taken away from its owner if it is judged to be a dangerous animal.
City Code Enforcement Officer Joe Caruso said he doesn’t know the severity of the injuries of the three people bitten. The pit bull bit three people as they tried to stop it from attacking the other dog.
The incident came just two weeks after the City Council approved an exemption for service and therapy dogs under a city ordinance that otherwise bans pit bulls.
The dog’s owner, Scott Lusby, couldn’t be reached for comment.
