ARLINGTON — Police have made an arrest in the April 8 killing of 25-year-old Jessica Jones in Arlington.
Jones’ boyfriend, 25, was being held Monday night for investigation of second-degree murder and unlawful possession of a firearm, city spokeswoman Kristin Banfield said.
Jones was shot in the 6800 block of 188th Street NE.
She was taken to a Seattle hospital, where she died the next day.
The suspect’s name was not released Monday. He was expected to be booked into Snohomish County Jail.
He initially told police that Jones had been killed in an apparent driveby shooting.
Evidence recovered in the investigation, including a handgun found in bushes outside the house, does not support the man’s version of events, officials said.
Witnesses reportedly told police they saw the suspect throw something in the bushes after the shooting.
