EVERETT — A 15-year-old Everett boy who was shot this weekend at Horizon Elementary School remains hospitalized, police said Monday.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing, Everett police spokesman Aaron Snell said.
Police have heard reports that the shooting was gang-related, but it is too early to draw any conclusions, Snell said.
A group of teenagers was playing basketball on Saturday about 6:30 p.m. when another group of teens approached them. A fight broke out, leading to gunfire.
The boy’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Several young people who were detained at the scene on Saturday later were released.
The suspect is described as a skinny, bald teen. He wore jeans and a blue T-shirt. The handgun was recovered at the scene.
No additional details were released Monday.
